Final challange
i think that i did quite well in our group i designed alittle bit of the robot but i wasnt here for the time when we did the programming. the final was good. we won with 33 cans nocked out. in the finals we overcame a technical problem. one of the motors could not work and out robot fell apart. i think that to improve it by not making the machines scoop the scans back in.

OGDC trip
when we reached the OGDC a guy called Mr Lim gave us a speech about the safety about robotics and the OGDC. after this he gave us a presentation about robotics for an hour. that was really boring.
after that we had a break. when we came back from the break we had to build on how to build a robot that can kick a ball into a goal in a green box. we get 10 balls and there is a time limit. our group got second and we got 60 points.the winner was Val's group. i think that this was because they put three balls in a box and launched it out together. the groups that didn't do so well had very big wheels and their robot was heavy. in our group we could have improved by putting more balls in the box by making it higher. the good thing about our group was that we had the fastest robot. RCX stands for Remote Control Explorer.

cogs and windmill
april 24th
today we did the cogs. this was basically just making a cog out of lego. in this activity we found out that when we have a bigger cog it moves slower and when we have a smaller cog it becomes faster. this was quite a hard activity. when we finished we played with it and even put some people on it. with the cogs we also did a windmill. this is an example of a good cog.we also lost some parts of the windmill and had to use the others groups one.

the inventor is a very free featured programme. instead of the the computer doing the work and making it move this time we move it. we can control it and make it got different direction. in this inventor programme you can basically do anything. the one we did was when we set the powers differently and we put touch sensors to it. at the end of the lesson we finished of by changing the wheels and make it into the ones that look like a tank. the robot moved slower because it was really heavy.

pilot 3 and 4
In the second lesson on robotics we did pilot 3 and 4. This time it was harder. we had to try out the touch sensor and the light sensor. For pilot on it was the touch sensor. When the robot touches something it will move away from it. This was fun to do. For this one everyone helped out in our group. The training programme for pilot 3 was abit long. After this we did pilot 4. This was the light sensor. It would spin around and whenever it senses a black line it will turn the other direction.i thought that this was the best one in the whole of robotics so far. When we finished with this we went on to www.blogger.com to fo our blogs and takl about what we did.

first day on robotics
3 april
on thursday we did robotics. first we made the robot following the book.we also did pilot 1 and pilot 2. in pilot 1 we we learned how to move the robot to go straight. before we did this we had to go to the training programme so that we would know what to do when we do the real programme. in my group there is calvin, yeethong, kelvin and sashnee. after pilot 1 we did pilot 2 when the robot got to go in circles. the same proccess as pilot 1 happen. before we did pilot 2 we added parts on to the robots. after the we got a head start on pilot 3 by making it and then the bel rang. the motor for the weels to move have to be on A B or C. the sensor has to be on 1 on the robot.
